The Goldie Harvey situation – Lest We Immortalize Nuisance

**Nigerians applauds Ekiti State governor, Mr. Kayode Fayemi who described Goldie as a “great daughter of Ekiti State” for singing meaningless songs and publishing suggestive photos of herself.

**Same Nigerians called Governor Theodora Orji of Abia State "an Idiot" for giving a car to Purity queen Mrs. Nwanyieze Prosper who kept her virginity until her marriage.

Goldie is deadAbout ten years ago I lost a friend in an armed robbery incident. Obviously the armed robbers were not satisfied with robbing they needed to make a point by harming someone in the house and my friend’s mother was their target. As they swung the axe my friend who was the scholar of our class in secondary school protected his mother with his head…. he died; no national award, no postmortem speech from the Governor and of course no celebrity burial; he was just another guy, the fact that he took a battle axe to his head for his mother was irrelevant.

This and many more of it happens in a country wherein people get millions both in local and foreign currency for playing football; a country wherein comedians shake hands with the President and women who kiss strange men on camera in the name of acting take home National Award and an immoral youth who made fame singing about his private part is given special opportunity to interview the President in a desperate campaign strategy because the thinking is that the community is populated by zombies and bimbos who will vote in a PHD holder on the “honor” of a nuisance whose only relevance to society, apart from lewd music, is competition in air and space. Thus the question every sane Nigerian should be asking is when will this madness of undeserved honor stop?

The death of the musician from Ekiti, Goldie Harvey, and the attempt to make it seem like we lost an icon is another and perhaps the worst of all these madness. I do not believe that death, which we will all face, should make you a hero except you died an honorable death. When people just drop dead we grieve and console the family not tell blatant lies as to who they were. This is why the statement of the Ekiti State Governor is worrisome. Mr. Kayode Fayemi is reported to have described Goldie as a “great daughter of Ekiti State” and one has to wonder upon what was this greatness achieved? Are people now great for singing meaningless songs with promiscuous suggestions or for taking and publishing suggestive photos of themselves?

Since when did we consider it greatness to appeal to the sexual cravings of perverts and run after men on camera in the name of a reality show that is far from reality? Since when did it become great achievement that a lady is even thought of as being a junkie in her life time? How can this be great?

In the past fathers will tell their children “don’t bring shame to this family” but nowadays shame and shamelessness is celebrated with such noise that you think the Devil himself is in charge of people’s life and even he has gone crazy.

Ironically, around the same period this unfortunate death occurred Governor Theodora Orji of Abia State was commending Mrs. Nwanyieze Prosper for winning the Purity Queen title for a lady who kept her virginity until her marriage; surprisingly some Nigerians criticized the Governor and even ‘accused’ him of giving her a car whereas Governor Kayode Fayemi was praised for describing Goldie as a “bright star” among other accolades including that she lived a “fulfilled life”. Indeed the world is upside down.

The problem with giving honour to people who did dishonourable acts is that people will definitely emulate them. The Dolly Parton’s of this world made it a fashion for women to expose their cleavage; years on women have lost their husbands to such exposure and homes have collapsed; the Dr. Dre’s of this world made being “gangster” a fashionable thing and years later the gangsters are increasing and we even have a gangster in the White House killing innocent people with Drones…. Martin Luther’s dreams became a Nightmare. And this list goes on and on; for every irresponsible person you honor you make irresponsibility the “swag”, the same way for every man who dies for his mother you honor you make standing up against oppression and protecting the weak the in-thing…. make your choice.

Lastly, we must clarify two issues. The first one is with regards to speaking “evil” about the dead while the second one is the “who are you to judge” comedy.

Firstly, the dead has already met what he or she put forward hence there is no need to speak of its evil. What there is need to do however is to either call the living to an example to live by if the dead is worthy of emulation or to warn the living to stay away from a wasteful lifestyle like that of the dead who lived life as if death was never going to come and this is the real lesson here; life is short, if you live it like Goldie your death may come and meet you in that state; what will you tell your Creator? We cannot pretend this is not the lesson here; it will be one lie too many

Secondly, they ask us not to Judge and we say to them since we are in the spirit of not judging kindly don’t judge the location of your mouth so that you put your food in your nose. We say to them that in this spirit of not judging please cross the road without judging that a vehicle is close enough to knock you down; maybe when you are in the air you will realize your stupidity.

We do not judge a person who has faith that he or she will be in the hellfire, we do not Judge that the person’s bad is more than his/her good, we do not Judge if God will forgive a believer…..but we judge that fornication and the promotion of it is EVIL, and that the one who represented evil dead does not make evil good.

Some others will say an adult can do what he or she likes and you don’t have to force your life on others. The question we have for this set of confused mentally colonized perverts is that this same justification is given to homosexuality and it will soon be given to incest so that if a grown up man and his grown up daughter say they fell in love and want to marry your kind will say well it’s their life, it does not affect me…. can you see now that you are sick?

Conclusively, the lessons from this unfortunate incident can be summarized as thus;

1) Death can come at any time; be prepared to meet your Lord.

2) Fame and fortunes are but illusions, what matters is your relationship with your Creator.

3) The enjoyment of this world is fleeting; don’t let it deceive you.

4) Live a good life; one that does not involve promoting lewdness or any type of evil; death and Judgment is real and it is no respecter of status.

5) It was the honor given her musical mentors that led the lady to not just music but a meaningless form upon which her life ended so let’s ensure that we do not turn scum into icons because people will sure emulate them.

May God Almighty give the family fortitude to bear the lost and guide them aright.

"I chose her above the others because she has been through it all with me.”

"Annie is my first and true love. I had known her before I met the other women in my life. As a Christian, I had to marry one woman and it just had to be Annie. We had a secret wedding after we had reached an agreement and amicable understanding about the mothers of my children. It was a tough decision to make, one of the toughest in my life."

“I secretly married her because I have so much respect for my other babies’ mothers; I cannot afford to hurt their feelings with a sudden society wedding with Annie, not now. I chose her above the others because she has been through it all with me.”

That's it, it's so so emotional but I have got to say I really do respect the path he choosed to follow in this regad.

What to Expect From God of War - The Movie

For some reasons, God of War has become one of the most popular games available only on the PlayStation console, it's massive impression in the gaming world has turned attention of Hollywood to her camp. I remember the last time they were talks on the movie but later it was matched with a sad news of budget and financing. Hope and anticipation is back as screenwriters Marcus Dunstan and Patrick Melton talks about the movie.

Incase you are wondering who the pair are, Marcus Dunstan and Patrick Melton wrote the last four Saw films as well as this summer’s Piranha 3DD, they are currently preparing for the premiere of The Collection, the sequel to their cult 2009 horror film, The Collector.

God of War Movie
Rob Frappier of screenrant had an interview with the duo, this is what they had to say;

Dunstan: “It’s bad ass. It’s been so fun. Working with that team, they have been just so supportive. They want to get this movie to the screen, so we have been doing our part and we’re very much in the trenches right now delivering page after page after page to make that a reality.”
Dunstan giving an insight on their journey to the making of God of War.  Rob Frappier was also informed that the film would be different from other hack and slash films like Clash of the Titans and The Immortals, perhaps with the clear indication that God of War movie would stand tall above any competitor.

Most times, films re-engineered for gaming experience flops and vice-versa, I hope God of War  movie isn't going to be next flop game-movie to join the list.

Tribute to Pete Eneh

I was in deep shock when I got the news of Pete’s sudden death, my heart pricked as my veins tightened. Death is inevitable but sometimes life can be prolonged. Pete was admitted for over 3-months, but after amputation was performed on him, he gave up the ghost. Social pundits have blamed his demise on the negligence of our medical practitioners; Since I don't have any credible sources of what happened next after the amputation, I'm not going to go off quickly vent my rant on the nurses and doctors, rather I'm going to keep my calm and wait for an autopsy report. (I really hope there's one)

Tribute To Pete Eneh

If you're asking yourself "who the hell is Pete Eneh," you'd better step back and re-evaluate your life right now. Pete is a man's man, the kind of man you read about in the bible. A man who came from a time when beating your wife was not only socially acceptable, but encouraged (not that I'm saying spousal abuse is right, I'm just saying that sometimes she deserves it). Pete was right there when Nollywood was no where near the definition of a movie industry but a haven for production of films far less than those best described as utter garbage.

Despite the critics and failure of the industry to grow, Pete did his thing, his charisma was top notched, his fatherly role was definite and posed a wizardry deposition. A rare gem is gone and Nollywood has suffered another catastrophic blow.

RIP Pete, surely you would be missed.

He said: “One idiot came toasting me o! That is true, as funny as it would sound. Something is happening in this Nollywood. These upcoming actors are being used by some of the established producers who are gays. If you want to get a job as an up and coming actor, you must sleep with them. You must be sexed to get a job. We are no longer in the era of the female actresses suffering from sexual harassment; it is now man to man. Abomination! God has a lot of things to judge. Man to woman is also bad, but we can easily overlook that. Why not put your penis in the right place. There is something spiritual in that thing (frowns). Why would you bend down for one idiot to penetrate you, thereby destroying your future? You left God and bowed to devil…by the time you get up, you get up as a woman, while the idiot that penetrated you walks away majestically! Their payback is sudden death, and it keeps happening.

This is not the first time the actor would talk about his experience with gays in the make-believe industry.

Nationally, the popularity of this act has reached record high as people now openly display their sexual orientation despite a bill passed by the Senate which proposes a 14-year jail term to perpetrators of the act.

Why I Dumped My Wife - Rev. Chris Okotie

Senior pastor and president of the Household of God ministry, Rev. Chris Okotie gave an insight on the controversy between himself and his wife to City People Magazine through one of his church ministers, Rev Grace Funmi Paul in an exclusive interview. LindaIkeji was there to help us summarize the whole story. leaving us with the core of the whole details. Here is what the minister and multiple time presidential aspirant had to say:

Rev Grace: A blind person knows that my pastor loved his wife, Stephanie, passionately. This year before the separation, he had taken her out of the country at least three times to different places like Dubai, US and so on. He loved her, so did the congregation but the bible says that two cannot walk together except they agree. In the establishment of the kingdom of God, the rules change because the rules are made by God and not by man. So, it didn’t have to do with what pastor wanted to do, because left to him, his love will keep him struggling and going at it but if God gives him instruction he has to follow it through.
City People: If I get you correctly, it was Jesus instructions for Pastor Chris to part ways with Stephanie?
Rev Grace: Let me give you a precedent. In the bible, there’s a queen called Queen Vershti of Persia. The king invited his wife and said – come woman, I want to show you off to my people and the woman had an attitude. She had pride issues. It was at that point she said to the king “Excuse me, I am making up, how can you be humiliating me by telling me to come and sit down so that people can be looking at me.” So she refused and the people of the kingdom rose up against her, and they said the king must let her go, and that was how Esther came in. That is the principle of The Kingdom. In the two cases of my pastor’s former wives, it was an abdication of roles. One was a physical abdication, and the other was a spiritual abdication. In the matters of the Kingdom of God, when you abdicate your position, your position will be taken over, because the calling my pastor has, he is not called to work alone
City People: In Stephanie’s case, was it a case of spiritual or physical abdication?
Rev Grace: Her case was spiritual abdication, but either ways it amounts to the same thing, because the scripture states clearly that if unbelieving departs, let him depart, you are not bound.
City People: Any efforts to patch things up?
Rev Grace: Spiritual things can not be patched up. When there are two people who are not the same kind, it is not a matter of patching up.
City People: So is the congregation happy that the pastor is single again and is there any plans to replace Stephanie?
Rev Grace: The congregation is not in the position to replace Stephanie. My pastor is a full grown man, and he knows what he’s doing. In the case of our pastor’s first wife, she insisted that where she wanted to do her church work was in the US. As for Stephanie, I cannot be intruding. As much as I am authorised to do what I am doing, I can’t disrespect my pastor and Stephanie. If I begin to give you some details, they would amount to disrespect. My pastor has insisted that they want to keep it private.
City People: Pastor Chris once said that the instruction to marry Stephanie was from God
Rev Grace: If you know my pastor, he is a passionate person. They had a long time relationship before they got married. My pastor is particularly careful about beautiful women because he knows that the devil desires them. So when a beautiful woman has issues in church, he ministers to them, and because he does that, people jump to the conclusion that he sleeps with them, which is not true. Just like Queen Ure, pastor has never had an affair with her, will never have an affair with her because they are not of the same kind (Linda says – What does ‘not of the same kind’ mean?). Ure was pastoring her own church, until she became bored.

That's it..
