ALUU 4: Policeman Joined Mob to Unleash Terror on Students

While I screamed Jungle Justice after watching the video of the gruesome murder of innocent Nigerians, I wrote in one of my columns that there was need for a National Emergency Telephone Number, so the Police could easily be reached, thus averting such a disaster and destroying any prospect of a reoccurrence. I didn’t know that the proverbial adage that the Nigeria Police doesn’t save lives was evidently displayed at the scene.

Now, they are confirmation that two men of the Nigeria Police Force were present at the scene of the barbaric incident; one of them actually joined the mob in beating the victims, which later lead to their death.

In an interview section with journalist yesterday, when Police Paraded suspects of the Aluu murder case, one of the suspect made the shocking revelation.

 “I saw a crowd beating four boys. I ask who are the four men being beaten and they said they were armed robbers. I said what happened in the compound; they said they are going to 9, Coca cola Street in Umuokiri-Aluu. I said ok, it is my compound, let us go and see the person whether he is their member. Or let them point at the particular person they are going to look for.

“Along the line, two policemen came around. One of them was pleading, the other one even joined in the beating. After beating the boy, the police now asked that they hand over the boy over to them,” Ugbaje said.

The last hasn’t been heard. I will keep my fingers crossed and see how this case is handled.
